Refunds happen one of two ways:
When a tenant requests a refund via their Inosio account, an email is sent to anyone in your office that is associated with that tenant. This email is your trigger to go into your Inosio account and either approve or deny the refund.
2.) A Property Manager proactively issues a refund without the tenant requesting the refund via their Inosio account.
This might be the case where a tenant calls you and you come to an agreement to issue the refund without them having to access their account. Or this could be for an application fee that you decide to refund.

Issuing a refund
You can issue a refund at anytime.
Inosio will calculate the safest time to refund the money and display the refund issue date. If may be up to 7 days in the future.
If the payment returns prior to that date we will not issue a refund.

Can I deny a refund request?
Of course! You are in control. We are simply creating a communication channel between the payer and you.
If you want to deny the refund request you will navigate to the payment in question and use the deny button. Please provide some context to the payer, as it will be sent to the tenant.
Example: "We do not refund non-refundable deposits."

Are tenants notified?
Yes, tenants are notified via email automatically to their registered email when the refund is approved (or denied if they requested it), as well as when the refund is actually issued.
